i know im some random just poking my head in here from the notes on the pet preservation poll and you can totally just delete this but i figured it hopefully wouldn't hurt to send?

if you get the courage/determination to do so, it's definitely not unheard of to knock on the door with a trowel and a friend and ask if you can retrieve a childhood pet from the backyard, at least where I'm from (midwest farm-adjacent/suburban US). unless they've like. landscaped or built a pool or whatever most people might be a little weirded out but generally say yes. (especially if it's a childhood pet ime) as long as you replace the dirt after, and maybe offer to get them a plant for the disturbed ground? at two separate houses they've moved into my grandparents have had former tenants ask to retrieve their buried cats, and a friend got her childhood pup's skull when visiting her old neighborhood.

ngl the main issue is if you work yourself up and they end up saying no. alternatively is uncovering the bones to find many have been scattered or lost (very common for small and even medium-sized bones if they weren't buried in a non-decaying(?unsure of the word. like cardboard will dissolve pretty easily in wet soil but metal doesn't) box)

Honestly, I might be able to build up the courage to ask, but I don’t live in the same state anymore. I know he was buried wrapped in a black garbage bag so he’s probably all still together; unless whoever lives there tore up the backyard which is possible. I’m almost tempted to ask my dad to go ask for me since my parents still live in my hometown. However it is VERY wishful thinking of me to think he’d actually be willing to ship me a most likely partially decayed animal. I don’t know if that’s legal lol.

Idk, maybe if I go back again one day I’ll be do it. Thanks for the encouragement 💙

Originally I was going to explain myself in the tags but then I realized I have so much to say that I don't want it to just be hidden in the tags. I am so sorry I left a wall of text on your art post, I wrote this faster than I'd write an essay that's half as long what is wrong with me.

I also think that if anyone is going to end up aware-- not counting Wally-- it's going to be Frank. The website mentions his intelligence several times. If he's a smart, neat, organized, logical thinker, then surely he's be one of the first to figure out something is wrong in the neighborhood.

There's also that old picture of Frank, where he's surrounded by pieces of his body while hands that aren't his hold a red envelope in front of him. If that shocked face doesn't look like the face of someone who's just found out something horrible , I don't know what else it could be.

I also remember seeing a video(I think on TikTok) talking about how Sunny was meant to be the protagonist who would save everyone, but Clown didn't like how he had such heroic traits: he's cheery, kind, friendly, has good morals, and is, well, sunny. The video mentioned how the character meant to be Sunny's opposite was Frank, and how it would make sense if Frank was the hero instead.

To me, that makes absolute, perfect sense. Frank is portrayed as this grumpy, grouchy character who doesn't like Barnaby's jokes and frowns all the time. However, from the audios we've heard, he doesn't seem that bad, actually. Sure, he gets annoyed easily, but when he's with Poppy, he makes an effort to reassure her when she doubts her cooking, with Julie, he plays her games and loves her jokes, and with Eddie, he tries to ease the mailman's fears of the beetle.

Despite being a little cranky from time to time, I believe Frank has a good heart. He seems like the kind that would have a very strong, fair moral code and wouldn't let anything unjust happen. I think that if he started realizing something was wrong with the neighborhood, he would try to fix it in anyway he could. He would do anything in his power to protect his friends.

Speaking of his friends, am I imagining the coldness between Frank and Wally?

I'm definitely your average "victim Wally, evil Home" enjoyer, but when the audios came out, I just couldn't ignore Frank and Wally's strange treatment of eachother. At 2:23 in "Eddie's Big Lift", Wally starts greeting everyone. "Hi Julie, hi Sally, hi Frank, hi Eddie." maybe I'm just imagining it, but the way he says "Frank" sounds low and irked, like he's not exactly excited to see Frank. Even if I'm just imagining that, I'm definitely not imagining what Frank says to Wally in "Just So". At 2:33, Frank and Julie are talking, when suddenly, they get a knock at the door. Julie answers it, and Wally is there. Wally states that Home wanted to play croquet with them, and Frank says he doesn't see why not. Wally answers "Oh, swell." And then goes silent. It's silence for a long moment, before Frank-- sounding slightly irritated-- asks "Is there something else, Wally?" While you could argue that maybe Frank is acting like this becuase he's Frank, at the same time, Frank really actually doesn't seem as rude as they make him out to be. If Wally really is just the friendliest neighbor in the neighborhood, why would Frank seem slightly uncomfortable in Wally's presence?

Even though I love Wally dearly-- all of the neighbors dearly, for that matter-- there still seems to be something that's making Frank act this way towards him. Maybe I'm just overanalyzing, maybe I'm on to something. I want to know what other people think.

TL;DR:

Frank is grumpy but seems logical enough to see that something is wrong in their fake little world, making him an interesting change form your cliche heroes. Also, him and Wally might have some subtle aggresion aimed towards each other but it might just be me.

I'm sure he's fiiiine...

I like imagining Frank as one of the first characters that start questioning things, since he's described as the smartest and he's my absolute favourite. And maybe he accidentally gets Eddie also into trouble by confiding in him?

I don't usually talk about celebrities; artists, when I do, and I'm keenly aware that one needn't be a good person to be a hell of a heartwrenching artist. But Peter S. Beagle has written a few of my favorite things in the world, he's an excellent singer and filker, and this Twitter thread was dreadfully important to me. I've been chased, almost bit and actuslly bit by many'a dog in my 24 uears of life. Beagle, lab, pitfalls, a retriever and 2 German Shepherds. I now have two German Shepherd mixes [thanks husband] and they're actually kind of nice. Dumb, but protective [protective of the house from our landlord they see every day tho 🤦] and they give me a sense of security when I'm home alone and it's like the dead of night

They're also kind of a police/protection breed. Obviously not these two nuts, but the breed in general. So now, as I sit home alone with these two bozos [and my three cats and like 14 fish] I'm thinking of, like

Does Older bf! Simon get his girl a protection woofer? Rescue or breeder dog? How does that conversation go if he does? Does she think it's overkill or is she thankful for the company when he's gone?

i think older bf!simon hates being away from you in general but one of his biggest frustrations is that fact he’s left you alone.

he doesn’t like the idea of you being alone in that house and he doesn’t like knowing anything could happen and there’s not a damn thing he could do from so far away.

so yeah, he rescues two dogs (without fkn telling you) and they’re a couple of doberman brothers. they could stand on their back paws and put their front ones on your shoulders, these things are massive and look mean.

naturally, they adore simon and he could walk forever and they’d stay at his side. all he has to do is whistle and they’re on his heel, they don’t even rark up when he’s got his mask on.

you think they don’t like you as much as him, given the fact they spend so much time with him and only seem to tolerate you with food present.

it’s not as if they dislike you, they’ll sleep on the floor on your side of the bed and they’ll sit at your feet under your spot on the couch. sometimes when you’re wandering the house doing chores you can hear their claws on the floor just a few steps behind you.

almost like they’d been trained that way.

simon likes knowing they’re there to keep you company. that if someone chose their misfortune by trying to hurt you and simon wasn’t there to kill them himself? he knows something just as primal as he will do it for him.

so when he comes home from deployment late at night with no warning (as usual) and his boots are loud on the concrete outside as he approaches, he can see movement in the glass by the front door.

he knows it’s you, he’d know you with his eyes plucked out. he doesn’t like the idea that you might be afraid right now, hearing movement and having to investigate it on your own.

he’s about to speak up, to let you know it’s him and let you rest- but something stops him. he’s dead silent so he can hear it, you let out one sharp whistle.

suddenly, two large heads appear at either hip flanking you- simon’s sure he can hear growling all the way from here. he can’t help the smile that forms beneath his balaclava.

So...... If we are playing fair then, that means every single person that Biden just Pardoned is 100% guilty, including Milley and Faucci?

I see I see. Btw. I've said this before but I'll say it again. Blanket pardons should not be legal. You should have to define a crime prior to giving a pardon. Unless of course the person is already in jail in which case you can pardon them for those crimes.

However. It is the case that people who were supposedly guilty of trespassing on public property mind you, have been rotting in jail for years while literal pedophiles abusers and want to be dictators roam free. Like Gavin newsom. Who should be guilty of gross negligence given his lack of response and lack of preparation for the LA fires. Or Andrew Cuomo. Who killed up to 15000 people in nursing homes by putting covid positive patients into those places. Along with at least four other governors. And then there's Faucci. A man who literally helped fund gain of function research which has been illegal to fund or participate in for a while now.

Stack that on top of experimenting on beagles by letting flesh eating flies eat their faces after you cut their vocal cords and I would say that it is very possible that this man deserves to be in prison for a litany of things. But, I do not believe in any capacity these people deserve to walk. Because the difference between them and the January 6th people is the fact that a lot of the people arrested and put in prison didn't even do anything wrong. Most got changed with "trespassing" despite never having qualified for that charge. Meanwhile people have done sit-ins in pelosi's office aoc's office and several other locations by storming in and just sitting in. None of them are in jail for freaking trespassing. Same building no less. The only difference is the political leaning. And that's after we found out more regarding the FBI's participation in January 6th. No fewer than 26 agents on the ground mostly people meant to incite as well as informants.

Trump should find a way around the pardons to get Faucci. And it's more impressive to me that the liberals actually want to spare him considering that he's partially responsible for covid since he helped fund it. If nothing else he should be charged for gross and negligence. And a blanket pardon should never be a thing. You should only be able to be pardoned for things that are able to be proposed. And it doesn't have to be "admittance of guilt" it can be, "potentially charged for". But every single state should press charges against Faucci.

Wally Darling

It was quiet in his house, even Home didn't let out a single crack until this moment. There was just one problem. You haven't seen your dearest puppet oh so long ago. The plan was that you two will have a cuddle time together, but he was nowhere. 

You got up from the couch and carefully looked around in the house. You cautiously called out his name, but no one responded. 

You walked around in the house a little bit, hoping to find him. 

He had his own painting room where he could make his own fantasy alive with the brush. 

You walked closer carefully, not to scare him. Even so, he could actually clearly hear you sneaking up behind him, but he was more focused on the picture. 

You peaked through his shoulders to see what he was up to. 

Oh. My. Gosh. Your heart skipped a beat. He was painting a picture of you. How cute! Wally was a very talented artist and you were very amazed in this moment. He always did such a great job. 

"This looks so great, Wally! You are such a good boy!" you said quietly, while you gently placed your head on his shoulder.

• of course, he is happy! ♡

• "Thank you, Neighbour!"

• he smiles at you happily, hoping that you like his work

Eddie Dear 

Eddie came home and you could tell, he was clearly exhausted. Poor boy, running back and forth all day, and do this job all alone, it must be tiring. 

He got down next to you, just quietly lied down on his back and put his head on your lap. 

"Hey." you said softly, curling his hair gently with your fingers. 

"Hey, love!" he looked at you with his tired eyes, but his lips still curled up into a kind smile. 

You were resting quietly in the warm room, just hearing each other's calm breathing was enough relaxing. 

"It must be hard for you to do this job all alone, Eddie." you said quietly, no to destroy this calm moment that you have been in for awhile. "You're such a good boy!" you chuckled. 

• he slowly opens his eyes, looks straight up at you

• look, idk if they can blush, but now he does it okay? 

• like his face is completely red

• he always gets so flushed when you complimenting him

• he's so flattered 

• and so damn cute ♡

• he's speechless, he can't think of what he could say

• so he just simply says

• "Oh... Erm... Thanks, (Y/N)!" 

• he will definitely give a kiss to your hands in return

• Your compliments mean too much for him ♡

Barnaby. B. Beagle

 He knew that work is tiring for you and you had a long day. He wanted to do something pleasant for you. He couldn't cook, it was too difficult for him and he didn't wanna blow up the kitchen with his tryings. So instead of cooking, he cleaned out. It was not as perfect like you would did it, but it was acceptable. He was already finished when you were standing in front of the red and blue colored door. It was easy to recognize it. It had similar colors as Barnaby and it was the biggest door in the neighbourhood. 

He opened the door with a happiest smile on his face. He was clearly missing you. He let you in and you immediately took a seat on the comfy couch. 

Just a few minutes after you had some chance to look around. The house wasn't perfectly clean, like you could still something in the conner, but it was enough to make you feel happy and greatful about Barnaby. 

"What a good boy!"

• I mean he's like a dog, but different, but still a dog, so what did you expect?

• he definitely loves it when you call him a good boy

• he just listens your soft and lovely voice while you caressing and rubbing his fluffy head

• he especially likes rubs behind his big ears

• will rest his head on your lap and just melt in and let you to pet and praise him

• probably will bite you carefully in an affection way

• or slobber on you occasionally

• he wants you to say it more times, so he'll try to make you proud as often as he can

• he absolutely loves it ♡

Frank Frankly

You wanted to see your partner's reaction too much to lose this idea. You leaned forward in the chair to get a better look at Frank, then you called him. 

"You are such a good boy, Frank!" 

• he looks up at you strangely and confused

• you can't help, but giggle a little bit cause the frustration

• "Well... Thank you, (Y/N)..." 

• then he goes back to his job

• probably he has to do something with those colorful bugs what are around him

• seems like he found a better company than you :") 

• you stood up and got over to him, tried not to hurt his garden and the bugs

• "But seriously, hon, I do think that you're doing an amazing job!" you said it softly as you hugged him from behind.

"Thank you, Darling." he smiles at you adorably

• but he definitely likes dear, hon, love or even darling more :D

Howdy Pillar

You rested your arm on the counter as Howdy checked your items. You watched his movements. Slowly tracing your eyes from his face down to his hands, paying attention to details as well.

"Y'know, you do so much work in this place, Howdy. Like a good boy." You added jokingly the last sentence, didn't think of it too much, though.

He stopped moving for and looked up on you. You look directly in his eyes, getting red of embarassment.

"I mean-" You looked away sheepishly. "Not like that, just... You're doing such a good job here, y'know? It must be hard to keep this place alright by yourself." you chuckled awkardly, trying to change the awkard mood that you accidently did.

Howdy was still looking at you, but he didn't seem nervous or weird out about this. He just stared at you and then suddenly his lips curled into a kind, but a teasing smile.

"Yeah, it is." he answered.

He already put in a bag the last item you have bought of him, then he gently gave the bag to you with his third hand.

"You wanna drink a quick Dark Roast with me? Or if you prefer it more, you can have orange juice, or tea." he leaned closer to you on the counter.

"Sure." you said.

He walked away from the counter as one of his hands started to lead you beside him.

He glanced at you with a smile and said

"You still have to pay, though. Don't think that I'll forgot."

First of all, the art is BEAUTIFUL. The colors and shapes make everything better. Now i get why people were asking the villain scrooge to be on the tumblr sexyman tournment. I mean look at him while he YEETS the scrooges–

L + ratio to this anthagonist bozo who finally went fully insane and destroyed WORLDS to be the richest guy in the multiverse, all because he thinks Donald and the boys rejected him while actually they just got lost in the snow (they survived btw)

And he still can't even recognize which of them is HIS Donald! (damn just a few months with him and the boys and Scrooge already got that dad look of when the kid is messing up)

Well i think it's a nice comic. It's nice to see for once the concept of Scrooge turning into a villain because he ended up very lonely with too much greed and a heart of stone to actually open up to familiar happiness again. At the end, Scrooge is happier being a father family man than just a billionaire, and finally having his first christmas with the absolute mess now they all call it family.

Definitely on the schools soccer team, I see Jace as a very popular figure at school but he is very gentleman like, he will carry girls books and bags to class, help teachers move chairs and tables around class and chose the kids that usually don’t get chosen into teams for PE, he has a hair care routine for his curls for sure, is a comic fan I can see it and def is a crackhead for video games, does twitch streams probably, and loves energy drinks especially before his workouts (yeah I kinda headcannon him as a gym rat!) he owns a dog named vermax btw who is a German shepherd (proudest dog dad) academically he is great in English and history, heavy on the history since his family has a huge part in it I mean they were royalty and rode dragons (yes dragons existed and went extinct like dinosaurs and shit let me believe😫) but math is a bit of a hard subject he passes with a c maybe a B if lucky.

Luke

He has not a single bad or intimidating bone in his body, an angel if you will. He is the sweetest human being who is very shy and quiet until you get him to come out of his shell then he is a comedian full on, definitely has beautiful curls, does great in all his classes just to make Rhae proud (momma’s boy) wears a single sliver band ring that Rhaenyra gifted him and he has never taken it off, has a dog named Arrax who’s a beagle, he definitely wears flannels and hoodies and owns a million pairs of converse, he smokes/vapes but not constantly because he is paranoid that his lungs would give out before the age of 30. Definitely does twitch streams and has a PC set up, is in a gaming/coding club at school for sure, probs an anime fan (I don’t know why he just gives off cute dweeb vibes!)

Baela

A queen through and through! I see her being a human/equal/animal rights activist and a feminist for sure, idk she just seems like a supportive human who people would instantly love! She def would wear pretty vibrant colors, her hair would be lovely as well (wasn’t a big fan of the wigs in the show she and phoebe basically all of house Velaryon could have had better!) I see Baela with short silver coils even a gorgeous Afro and she might even enjoy dying her hair (maybe not) but she definitely would keep her hair healthy and beautiful! I have a feeling that she would be in some sort of sport but I cannot pinpoint which one! Owns a beautiful horse (a Friesian horse) named Moondancr, she would enjoy hobbies like horse back riding, going on hikes, surfing probably, rock climbing, she also loves doing crazy daredevil stuff (gives poor Laena a heart attack but Daemon is proud) she will stand her ground and speak her mind!

Rhaena

She is so graceful, Rhaena is so kind and sweet therefore everyone was always so comfortable in her presence, she is a academic genius looking into becoming a dance/ballet instructor due to being in the dancing field her whole life, it was something she enjoyed and felt at peace doing. Has a beautiful white Birman cat named Morning, her collar and supplies are all pink and bright, Rhaena herself wears light pinks and whites even mix it up with other pastel colors, cute knitted sweaters as well. Beautiful silver hair that she would have in gorgeous braids or let her natural coils (like Laena’s) be but either way she would look gorgeous! She is close with Baela and Luke more than anybody else!

Joffrey

Totally see him being the Lily Pritchett of his family, he would constantly gag everybody (especially Aegon!) Now since she doesn’t quite exist I headcannon that Rhaenyra gets to have her, everything about her is headcannon since yk she wasn’t alive in the show. I see her being a clone of Rhaenyra, a spoiled princess gets everything she wants (as she should) is in the best ballet school with the best instructors, her wardrobe is definitely professional made princess gowns, like she names a princess and Rhaenyra is on the phone getting it made, she has thick silver hair which she has her mommy braid just like hers, she owns millions of stuffed animals it is outrageous. Def owns a white Pomeranian pup named silverwing or Meraxes.

I want to know how the ancients achieved that - binding the demon such that, while underground, it could only warp reality in service to a living being's desires. Though really, that seems to be how it's always operated - the only desire it ever expressed for itself was to eat the desires of others. Otherwise, it's only shown fulfilling wishes, before it's locked in the dungeon as well as after.

But I wonder if having a physical form gives it the ability to want more? Does it hunger and third and want to rest, now? DOes it really feel a yearning not just for the completion of its plan, but for the open sky and sight of the world which it hasn't seen in so long?

the real thing of it for me is that I played cf first and as a result I can kind of understand, a hair, a sliver, where this stuff comes from because, since cf was a last late addition, there's just a lot less meat on the bones and more space to fill in and some people have chosen to do that with 2010-20s politics that do not gel at all with the few times edelgard tells you her plans and goals

and I mean a lot of properly understanding every character in the game (but especially the lords) is seeing what happens with them in other routes. in cf dimitri has not even lost an eye and seems like he is doing at least a little bit better than he is on the other routes as he hasn't been in feral hiding mode for 5 years and he's had his support system intact. meanwhile on other routes edelgard is using forcibly transformed demon beasts and actively working with the actual villains of the game -- and no I don't think the slithers are just an addition to fool normies into centrism ala your daisy fitzroys or whatever, because that is not something this game is concerned with lol. feel like people deploy this accusation about centrist both sides bad villains every time ever since they saw it done in a youtube video and it's just not something that applies here

and also I'm sorry to say it but cf is just unfortunately not super good. it's shorter than the other plots, the characterization sometimes involves a lot of idiot ball carrying, there's sometimes a severe tone problem like the bit where the game goes from edelgard lying and telling everyone rhea blew up fort merceus (it's weird how nobody ever brings this up!!!) to anime shenanigans from the other beagles. who btw are written way more seriously and with much more depth in silver snow, the route that was originally intended for them before cf got added in at the end. there's no fucking reunion anime clip after the skip?? it's actually vaguely unclear byleth even falls into the crevice or whatever because edelgard just suddenly shouts as byleth goes off screen?

also again, the delightful complexity of edelgard believing the ends have to justify the means or her suffering meant nothing, I find that super interesting. but that's not the character people want to write and while I -- kind of -- get it I do think that it's just less compelling

I'm editing this to add another thing which is that each route has at least one commoner in the pre-recruited class to provide the working class take on what's going on and dorothea, the ONLY pre-recruited commoner for cf and ss, has never been less happy with the war than she is in cf
